Behind every Intercom Chemicals formulation there is a rigorous control and analysis process that begins well before production. It is in the in-house laboratory, the true technical heart of the company, that one of the most delicate phases of our work takes shape: the verification of the quality and conformity of raw materials.
Each batch of incoming resins – liquid or powder – is sampled and analysed according to standardised and internationally recognised methods. This “double check” allows us to compare internal data with suppliers' analysis certificates, thus guaranteeing our customers maximum consistency between what is declared and what is actually supplied.
Specific tests are carried out in the laboratory on key parameters such as fluidity (Flow DIN at 125°C, ISO 8619), water content (Karl Fischer, ISO 760), phenol and free formaldehyde (ISO 8974 and ISO 9397), viscosity and polymerisation time (Cure Time, ISO 8987 B) .
Each test is performed using dedicated instruments – Rotavisc viscometer, gas chromatograph, rotary evaporator, muffle furnace and vibrating sieve – to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
This approach is not limited to quality control, but becomes a real competitive advantage: the ability to validate each material internally allows Intercom Chemicals to be faster in its checks, more flexible in its supplies and more reliable in its customisations.
Furthermore, collaboration with accredited external laboratories – for granulometric analysis (Malvern) and atomic absorption analysis – further extends the scope of control, offering cross-sectional certification on every critical parameter.
The Intercom laboratory is therefore much more than a technical department: it is a guarantee of quality and continuous innovation, translating chemical expertise into concrete trust for the customer.
