The fundamental right to live on our planet also brings duties along with it, first and foremost that of treating the Earth with the greatest respect and care. At Intercom, we appreciate the importance of a more sustainable lifestyle and, especially in our industry, of production more in tune with nature and the needs of workers themselves. The pandemic has merely enhanced this awareness and accelerated some processes already under way.
Our work’s environmental impact has been a crucial issue at Intercom for some time, and we have focused on it to find out what we could improve and how to increase our business’s level of sustainability. We then went on to work to achieve what we consider a major accolade.
In fact, we are delighted to have obtained PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) Chain of Custody certification.
The PEFC mark is awarded to products consisting of wood raw materials sourced from forests which hold PEFC certification for the sustainable management of their resources, and has been conferred on our Lerite® brand products. The wood flour used in our processes comes from forests that are managed sustainably, protecting the environment, legality and workers’ rights. PEFC certification gives our products the added value of the protection of ecosystems and lower environmental impact, a key distinguishing factor nowadays for companies that lead the way in eco-sustainability.
Intercom is committed to continuing to pursue ecology and sustainability, well aware of contemporary man’s responsibility to the environment where he has lived for millennia.
“You will find something more in woods than in books. Trees and stones will teach you that which you can never learn from masters.” - St Bernard of Clairvaux.
