Lerite® Moulding compounds
Our Lerite® thermosetting masses have excellent chemical and physical properties. They are natural, environmentally friendly, and sustainable. Thanks to their chemical and physical characteristics, they are used in the production of handles, electrical equipment, and the white goods industry. They comply with international standards UL, EN/ISO 14526-3, and PEFC.
Lerite® Eco+ has been designed with the aim of significantly reducing the use of chemical components in the formulation. These components have a greater impact on the environment.
A special, eco-sustainable, and patented project that has seen Intercom as a protagonist along with some partners in the industrial sector. It is a project that looks to the future and brings with it some important potential benefits:
- it involves the reuse of rice husk, a by-product of the rice industry, which offers the opportunity to reduce waste and improve sustainability.
- rice husk is cheaper than wood flour, as it is a by-product that would otherwise be discarded.
- rice husk is biodegradable and compostable, unlike wood flour, which is only biodegradable. This means that the molding mass based on rice husk decomposes naturally into compost in the presence of microorganisms, without releasing pollutants into the environment.
- rice husk is more resistant and lighter than wood flour, making it ideal for the production of products such as dishes, food containers, kitchen utensils, toys, and home accessories.
- rice husk has a lower environmental impact than wood flour, as its production requires less energy and water and generates fewer CO2 emissions.
